The challenge
Create an unforgettable anniversary surprise in which every employee plays a part
Zwaluwe Bouw is a construction company based in Brabant with a strong focus on sustainability and team spirit. For their 40th anniversary, they wanted to do something very special for the company’s founder. But how do you surprise someone who keeps an eye on everything, is as sharp as a swallow, and belongs to the ‘just act normal, that’s crazy enough’ generation, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic with all its restrictions?

The solution
A gift in the form of a video production featuring the entire workforce, ranging from touching to hilarious
In the weeks leading up to the anniversary, armed with a camera, we visited all the construction sites to teach the employees an anniversary dance and film a thank-you message. This, of course, had to be kept a closely guarded secret from the founder, but in no time at all this activity became the talk of the day amongst the employees. Personal input also grew with each recording. On the anniversary day, the founder and his wife were lured to the head office with a dinner, where they were welcomed into a studio setting and presented with the gift. Approximately 300 people were logged in at that moment, each with an anniversary package they had received at home. They were able to watch the premiere live, react via WhatsApp on the screens and see how the film was received.
